Hello guys, I have a 2004 Saturn ION 2.2L with 95K miles.
The other day I drove through a puddle that was about a foot deep, The car died. I restarted and drove away. The next day, the coolent light came on. I filled it up and on my way home from work it came back on. I looked for leaks, could not find any, then I checked the oil and found it to be milky.
I know that the coolent is mixing with the oil, I am just not sure If it's definitly either a cracked head, or bad head gasket, or is it possilbe that a bad water pump can cause the same problem. The water pump is timing chain driven and in side the engine.
Is it possible that I have a bad water pump?
Can a leaky pump leak into the engine?
Or should I start removing the head?
Any body who can help, I will be thankfull.
Thanks
Z

you should start bay removing the head and sending to a machine shop to get it checked out, this step is a MUST!
