Titan vs. Tacoma

I just wanted an opinion from any of you who have had experience with titans and tacomas. My dad has an '07 Tacoma, I really like it. In the future I want to get either a Titan or Tacoma. My dad's Tacoma has had a couple engine problems already so getting a Tacoma may be a nono:nono:. Any pros and cons about these trucks that I should know about???
