89 ram van B250 wind shield wipers don't work

I was using my wind shield wipers and I heard a loud clunk. The wiper blades stopped pointing straight up. I can now move the blades by hand with no resistance and they no longer work. Anybody know what happened and how I fix it?

The linkage separated. Remove the wiper arms and then the grill underneath them to access the linkage.

Ok, dumb question. How do you take that grill off? I looked at it and I do not see any screws to remove it.

Start by pulling off the weatherstripping that runs along the bottom, under the hood. Once that's out of the way you should now be able to see the screws that run across the cowl. You'll then have to remove the wiper arms from the pivots. After that the cowl should lift up and out. There are a couple of metal clips at the top corners that might offer some resistance, so look for those as you're lifting.

Thank you for the tips.

That did the trick. I had to replace the bushings that hels the linkage together. Now I have to replace the passenger side mirror. Do I have to take off the interior door panel to access the hardware that holds the mirror on?

I believe you do have to remove the interior panel. There should be 3 or 4 nuts you have to remove.
