00 Focus- No Brake Lights on Right only

Ok guys. Need some help here. My 2000 Focus has no brake lights on the passenger side only. I originally thought it was just a bulb so I got new ones. Then I noticed that the bulbs in the upper light were only working on the left side as well. Weird!! So I tore all of the trim out of the trunk thinking that a wire got cut or wore thru. Again, wishful thinking. I found nothing. So I still have all of the trim out and can see all of the wiring. All of the wires from the right side goto the left side and then thru what looks like a simple junction/relay box. Checked the connections there. Nothing found.
I should mention that the flasher, 4 way and all other lights work just fine. (Mind you they are all separate bulbs)
Has anyone heard of this before?

One last thing I could mention...I had a car starter installed a little over a year ago. Could that do this?

Help me please....i'm frustrated.

It's gotta be the bulb. You might have put the old bulb back in by mistake. I've done it a lot of times. If not then it's gotta be the wiring. Can you put a DVOM on the hot wire and ground for that side. Either it's the old bulb put back in or you put the bulb in backwards. It wouldn't have anything to do with a remote starter system.

I didn't really suspect the remote starter...I just don't know anything about them. So I asked.
I don't think it is the bulb. Not only did I change it (again) but I turned it as well. And the filaments look OK. Not broken. I lost my DVOM. I'm headed to the store now to get another one. How much voltage should be going thru it?

Just battery voltage. 12 volts or so.

Sorry. Something came up. I will get to this tomorrow for sure. Thanks for the replies. I'll get back either way.

OK. So after getting my volt meter and doing some tests I found out that I was getting 11.68v to the brake light. Wierd but not so under voltage that it would cause it to not work. Tried the driver's side. Full 12v. So I pull the bulb and switch them. Now my working bulb does not work in the right side and the non-working bulb suddenly works. But it is getting voltage. Again, weird. So I pull the whole assembly (the part directly attached to the bulb) and switch them. Voila...the one form the right (now in the left) won't work. I went to the wreckers and got a new one and all is not good. I still can't figure out why the upper lights did not work tho. But they seem to be ok now. Damn....focus!
Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
