Dodge Ram 1500 A/C Leak HELP!kawyboy 07-19-2010, 10:42 PM Hello all and thanks in advance. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab. 318 Motor about 130,000 miles. A/C went out. I had it recharged with dye a couple times from a dealer buddy of mine but he can't find a leak anywhere under the hood. Says it has to be inside. What are my options? Has anyone seen this? Is this comon on Dodge pickups? If I recharge system A/c Gets cold works fine. It only takes a couple of hours before it leaks down and is warm, warm, warm. Any and all input welcome. My wife has Asma and I need to get it fixed ASAP and for as little $$$ as possible. Chris Stewart 07-20-2010, 06:43 AM The evaporator may be leaky. Here's a pdf of a 2001 factory service manual. It loads/saves kinda slow but it's all there and I haven't had any problem with it. http://pdftown.com/Dodge-Ram-2001-Service-Manual.html hundahunta 07-22-2010, 02:40 AM sounds like an evap, should be a pretty easy fix since you friend has automotive experience, takes about 2 hrs... brcidd 07-22-2010, 07:19 AM Definitely evaporator leak-- Dodges are known for this-- good to know that the dash pull can be done in 2 hours-- book time is over 6 hours..... Chris Stewart 07-22-2010, 10:31 PM If flatrate shows 6 hours, it'll take me 3 days:smokin: Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2013
