2001 corolla SE; 146,000 miles.
My son was driving at highway speed (on cruise) when it just started slowing down; it had no throttle response. he pulled over and it went to idle (still running). after turning it off and it wouldn't restart.
I pulled it home and checked the codes.
P0171 - system too lean bank 1
P0325 - knock sensor 1 circuit bank 1 or single sensor
it also shows a pending code P0420 - catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1
I pulled the plugs and checked the connections and it looks ok.
i tried to start it and the starter runs normal and it almost kicks off, but wont start.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Danny

Some common things on those
-fuel pumps, if your over 60k miles
-Dirty MAF sensors - pull it out clean it put it back in, not a bad idea to check the airfilter and make sure its installed correctly and the seal is in good shape.
-Leaking intake gaskets, not as common but had a couple that would flag lean codes.
I'd pop the fuel line and check for fuel pressure.

cleaned maf - no change.
pulled off fuel line and it is pumping.
i'm thinking it's not getting "fire".
I've pulled off the plugs (coils) but don't see anything obvious.
would crank sensor keep it from cranking?
what about o2 sensor?
fuel filter? but if it's getting fuel to the engine???
