I'd have to say 235-245....I wouldn't go much wider than that without well modification, you'll rub the shit out of them.

so 225 is about perfect? or 235? excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject.

i was thinking Racing Hart C-5 Evolutions (17x7.0), with nitto 235/40/17. Will it work, and can i go with a wider tire?

235's won't fit on that wheel... the widest you can get on that wheel is gonna be 215, but i would suggest 205's for that specific wheel

why 205's and not 215's?

its just my opinion... 205's are generally cheaper and more abundant. 215's will fit but they would be better suited for a 7.5 inch wide wheel.
