My freind just painted the front lip, side skirts, and rear lip of his red 99 SI white, to go with his white rims. Personally I think it looks pretty sweet, what do you guys think? Is it ricey or nice?

wow. with those white wipers and white window shield, i thought you would've gotten more responses. Personally i think the rims should be the only white stuff there, like what's her name with the red civic (the moderator i think). Maybe not ricey, but probably ugly.

It looks a whole lot better in person, the pictures really dont do it justice. But yeah, I agree, the banner and the wipers are a bit overkill on the white accents.

The white rims should've be the only thing there.

I agree with what they're saying about the rims being the only thing white, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it looks ricey.

the onlything i think you should loose the white on is the trim.. and maybe the thing on the window. other than that i like how it looks good job!

I'm don't agree, I think that is quite nice. If he lost the white wipers and the banner on the windshield, that would be one of the nicest looking civics I've ever seen.

The band of white along the bottom works really well to break up an otherwise solid, and somewhat boring red. I think that If he goes with just the wheels and the band around the bottom that would be absolutely perfect.

ok first off, i dont like white rims so i'm already gonna call it ugly/rice. plus they are kinda funny looking rims (sorry just my opinion). i dont like different color body components (this excludes unpainted cf). the windsheild is disgusting. sorry, i thought honesty would be what you were looking for...i just dont like it ;/

What do you think of black HRE 545 rims with polished lip on a silver car? That's what I'm doing with my new Audi.

P.S. I'm selling my rims you see in the picture cause I've grown out of the look of my car and I don't think it looks good anymore.

I pulled up behind a Blue Si on the highway. I saw it had a rear lip (rare because they dont make them anymore from Honda)

But it was painted white...I was like Why didnt he paint it. As I went around him I saw his side skirts were white and so was his front lip.

So in conclusion...not only is it ugly as hell its un origional...

I'm selling some of my stock and will be coming across a good deal of money. I have an opportunity to get a sweet deal on these HRE 545 rims. They would usually be over $4k for 4, but im getting them for $1800. They are 3 piece and extremely lightweight for their size. Axis Sevens are pretty good looking rims, however I think they are too Japanese for my German. I want the deep lip look for the Audi. If all goes well it should be these in anodized black and polished lip:

I think it looks pretty sweet, except the wipers. If the banner had some red writing on it, then it would go good with the car.

ugly, cheap looking (looks like he didn't have the cash to paint his kit), an jus doesn't do anything for me...IMO a piece of rice. but its only my opinion...:D

When I said unpainted body components I meant kits, lips, spoilers, etc.

definately ugly and on the verge of ricey... keep the whole car red, would look much cleaner...

Yeah its all good, its not my car so I really could care less, just asking what everyone thought, thats all.

I have to agree that the white rims and lip together are a bit much..... but the idea is damn good..I can't see any other color or style rims really fitting that scheme. Stick with it.. You can't make everyone happy.

That car looks good compared to what I saw today @ a car show. Gold body with red rims, ext. trim, & interior. Bright ass ugly red, what the hell? Even had a shopping cart handle on the trunk lid. Damn thing might fly away if a gust a wind comes.

It's okay.... a lil too much white for my taste. My Civic is red, with white emblems and the rims are white, looks fine. Don't have the lip painted white or the white banner... or the windshield wipers....But it's your friends car and his taste... making his car unique... and stand out, lol.:thumbsup:

I think it would be better without the banner and the wipers being white. The white badge could also go. As far as the two tone I don't have room to talk. My honda accord came in euka green and has black trim and a black lower valance(and that is just fuckin stupid, they should have painted it at the factory). If I was going to paint it, I would probably go for the same color so it's more flush. but, your friend will figure it out. And if it bugs him that bad just tell him to cheer up...it will be in a junkyard in about 10-15 years. :biggrin:

Good point. My DX has black mirrors, door handles, molding, and license plate holder.... why couldn't they just paint the whole damn car? They paint the EX! Cheap bastards! j/k but they coulda painted it :( anyway...

therres no reason to paint tha lips and all that white only for looks and to stand out.. but if u raced ur car shit like that i would of kept it all tha same color .. 2 tone cars like tha red wit white lips attract cops

It looks like your friend was just dying to change something, but coudln't afford to make a real upgrade. I like the wheels, everything else white should go.
