Key ?

Is it still true that the only place I can get a key made for my 95 C 280 is at a dealer?

Yes it is true....and it costs approximately 400 dollars. Crazy!!!!! I lost my key last year...thats what the dealer quoted me!!!!!!!! I ended up paying a buddy of mine 50 dollars for pulling a used one from a wrecking yard and installing it into mine. Sad thing is that the key doesnt operate the door or trunk locks. I had a car alarm installed and it features the ability to lock and unlock the doors and also pops the trunk. The alarm price was $199 installed. Used key and key cylinder was $50. So, for about $150 less than what the dealer wanted, I got better security, my door locks work fine. I can start the car remotely. And the alarm sends me a message if the alarm is triggered.
