01' Montana and phantom crotch rocket....

On the way back from a trip my van began sounding like it was riding along side a crotch rocket or japanese tuner but only audible from the inside and only with tire revolution not trans, jacked up and it doesnt make it when wheels are free??? front end seem obvious but which side?? how do I check??

When jacked up can you move the wheel around by putting your hands at 9 and 3 and then at 12 and 6? If it is a wheel bearing, it's audible outside. The sound is different. Inside it roars, outside it hisses.
