I have a 2000 Silhouette with a bad window motor, and have no idea how to change it

It's real simple. Pull off the door panel (there are various "christmas tree" clips and screws), remove the water shield, remove the electrical connector from the motor, remove 3 bolts and the motor will come out.

I had done this on my 2001. There are also two bolts which need to be taken out. One is hidden under the trim panel where the pull handle is and the other is kinda under the arm rest. My moter was held by 3 clips instead of the bolts. Real easy. It you break any of the white push clips, any auto store carries them, just get the proper diameter of the hole.

Good Luck.

I looked up "how to replace a [name of make/model] window regulator" on YouTube and watched how to do it. I ordered the Dorman 741-737 Front Driver Side Power Window Regulator with Motor (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003S6F86E/ref=wms_ohs_product) from Amazon for my 2000 Olds Silhouette & was able to do it.

I got my motor from a "Recycle yard" (They don't call them junk or wrecker yards anymore), it was $10 and as many clips as I wanted.

Of course I had to remove the motor myself, but it is a good oportunity to see the inner working of the van doors plus all the rest. (sort of sad to see so many once nice vans all mangled and stripped.

Been running fine for 5 years.
