How do you remove the gas tank from a 1996 Grand Marquis?

Drain it, disconnect fuel lines and wiring, remove the sending unit and fuel pump assembly, disconnect the filler neck, remove the mounting straps. Lower it slowly and carefully disconnect the vents on top of the tank.

I'm curious to know where ur tank's leaking. Mine leaks on the passenger side, front corner. Have you replaced yours yet? I wonder if I can fix mine if hole is small enough?
