2002 Cavalier cooling fan not working

2002 Cavalier cooling fan not working
The temperature gauge moves to the red line
The cooling fan does not work
any suggestions ?

If you turn on the ac, does the fan run? Check applicable fuses. Use voltmeter on the fuse circuit, make sure there is voltage. Take the fan wiring connector loose, use jumper wires to battery for voltage and ground, use inline fuse, see if the motor will run? Also, check circuits at the fan relay.

If you have power tap the motor with a hammer not hard if the motor runs buy a new fan motor. Usually the computer turns the ground on and off to control the motor. If you have power on one side of the plug connect the test light to positive connection if it lights when you touch the ground I would replace the motor.
