Engine will not turn over or start...

:banghead: Ok..so.. I have a 97 civic hb dx. Last week i got up for work, got in the car and started it up...backed out of the parking spot, pulled forward about 30 feet and the car stalled. I started it again...and it stalled again. When I tried to start it again the starter just spun and the engine didn't turn over. Here is what I have done.

So.. I started with the oil..oils good. then the timing...timings good. changed the battery..its brand new now. I changed out the ignition coil..and checked the continuity of the new one and old one...both are the same but still changed it out. Checked the ignition control module.. good there too.

Got a test light.

Checked the control module...good there. checked the coil...good again.. checked the plug wires...again good. Which leads me to my next step...Maybe its flooded??? after a few days...still flooded?? So I have spark...fuel...and compresion...what next? I'm gonna pull the plugs..let it dry out for a day then put NEW plugs in it and see.. any ideas? Any help would be great!!!

But I still don't know why it stalled in the first place. One thing at a time. Got to get it running again.

Have you taken a look at the main relay?

are you sure the engine didnt' turn over when you started for the 3rd time??

either way that isn't the reason why your engine died. Do you have gas? sounds like a dumb question but check.

Check if you have fuel going to the engine, signal to injectors(will need a scope). Check if you have spark.

So what happens when you try to start the car now?? Does the engine crank?? does it start and then die. or no sound at all. or just a one TACK sound when you try to start it then silence.

See if your fuel pump prime works. if it works usually the pump is okay then. Don't usually have issues like that but anything is possible!!

so.. i lokked up the main relay and I will check it out tommorow...But how will that not let the car start if I have spark...and fuel...and compression? I did check all of the fuses under the hood and in the cab...they were all working good.

I have gas going to the engine.. i am sure of that, i have spark.. i am sure of that. when i try to start the car the starter turns the flywheel...the belts turn the crank...and the valves move but i have no ignition...when i pull the plugs they are wet with gas. they spark outside of the head...what now?

if you could tell me how you checked if there was spark that would help.

if what you say is true. YOu have fuel and spark, all that is left is air. usually no problems with getting air.

let me know how you check if there was spark.

a screwdriver in each plug wire... one at a time.....spark to the frame from the screwdriver shaft. i will add that i have a turbo... since you mentioned air.

that turbo might have been good to mention.

What kind of ems or ecu or whatever are you running?

what engine are you running?

the engine is a d16y7 bottom... and a d16y8 vtec head... i bought the car from someone else like this and need to fix it.... or "whatever i am running???" EMS...ECU.. i am soooooo learning that i should have known more than i did when i bought this car....but i am quick..not like my car right now though.lol.

Ok.. so I belive that the ECU is the stock computer that came with the vehicle. I can't be sure because the guy I bought the car from is in jail for speeding...go figure. I just replaced the plugs too and still nothing.

Ye those stock ecu are never good for turbo setups.. check your compression all around. give me the numbers.
