belt in A.C.

A few years ago I turned my A.C. in my Dodge Caravan on, air would blow
but it was not cold air. When I had the mechanic fix it, they said it was a belt that was broken and wasn't working.
Would that have been the fan belt or some other belt for the A.C.?

Thanks

The accessory drive belt on the front of the engine. If it broke HOPEFULLY it was because it was old and not because the compressor locked up.

Thanks Rahx!

It wasn't the compressor because if I remember correctly from
my college days, my '77 Dodge Diplomat among other problems, did have the compressor seize up, and the whole engine froze up when that happened.
No engine problems with my Caravan when that happened.
