A quick call to Autozone or O'Reilly etc. would confirm if they are compatable. Otherwise, I can't say for certain.

the only difference between 96 97 and 98 2.4 liter motors is the oil sending units and exhust manifolds, the block is virtually the same from 96 to 2001, after 2001 the engine changed once again, go figure.

Yes its pretty much the same engine with the minor exterior changes...
I would highly recommend obtaining a timing chain kit, and a water pump... Replace these before you install the next motor... If the water pump goes on you you'll be looking at another $800-$1200 to repair it...
