04-21-2010, 11:32 PM
Looks good so far. What exactly do you have in plan for this car? You say skyline eater in the thread title so you better have some big plans for the car. Let see a part list or somthing

04-22-2010, 12:57 AM
lol skylines arent that fast???? and i live in canada so we only have r32, r33s lol so i dont have to have alot to keep/ beat them but my parts list includes

fully built motor
hx 35 turbo
1mm oversized valves
hks 272 cams that were degreed
walbro 255 hp fuel pump
-6an fuel line right from tank
aeromotive fpr
aeromotive fuel rail
1250 cc injectors
greddy fmic
... list goes on

still need to purchase most of it, but as of right now i just wanna drop the motor in and get a 14b just so i can driver the car till i get the rest lol

What are you planning as far as engine management is concerned? And you mentioned a clutch...which one you going with?

04-22-2010, 02:01 AM
ecmlink v3 full, and i believe i will go with a 2600 but i may have to settle for a 2100

04-22-2010, 02:01 AM
oh and it will be an act clutch

04-22-2010, 08:44 AM
A 2100 won't hold. My 2600 won't even hold my SCM61. Consider bigger...

04-22-2010, 09:56 AM
Lando what disk are you running?

04-22-2010, 02:09 PM
Lando what disk are you running?

Street disk. Less than 5k on the setup.

04-22-2010, 04:11 PM
well if you are running a 2600 and have a set up like that, i would have personally went with a six puck. you definitely wouldnt be slipping then cause those are good for close to 575hp, and im not planning on making over that lol so i sould be fine with getting the a 2600 with street disc.

04-22-2010, 11:36 PM
Street disk. Less than 5k on the setup.

Thats your problem, organic disk can only take so much power, need something with a higher coefficient of friction. Kevlar would probably be a good choice or you may even have to go to a ceramic disk if you are making that much power

04-23-2010, 12:59 AM
got the entire motor put together today except for the mock up turbo because im missing both of the banjo bolts and one turbo bolt. also noticed i need the sensors off of the TB too. ended up having to re do the timing on the motor it looked to be a tooth out, so now she is dead on. also ended up breaking my jay racing timing belt tool man was i mad

Kevlar would probably be a good choice or you may even have to go to a ceramic disk if you are making that much powerI've turned up the wick a bit since the car was an 11.7 car, but it seemed to do OK for the previous owner. Being that we've both done our share of daily driving and launchin in the car, I can't say I'm surprised this is happening. :)

I'll probably be doing the SBC Kevlar disk, 2600 (or 2900) PP combo when it finally gives up completely. I'm fixing my old S10 for the day it happens, so I'm not SOL without a car.

04-23-2010, 07:47 PM
lol nice

04-24-2010, 10:24 AM
Whens the motor gonna be back in the car? Are you running the stock t25 fir now?

04-24-2010, 04:28 PM
the motor will be getting dropped in as soon as i have the cash to buy and get my act clutch lol,im gunna drop the motor and trans in the same time lol and ya for now im gunna just push my t25 lol, once i have all the stuff to run the hx then it gets put on

04-24-2010, 08:29 PM
Do you plan on using the BEP bolt on housing that the hx35 or the stock housing? If you plan on running the stock T3 housing then I would recommend the hy35 instead. It has a slightly smaller exhaust wheel and a 9cm T3 housing. Runs the same 8 blade compression wheel as the hx series. The Hx runs a 12cm housing which slows the spool down a good bit. I am running the Holset WH1c turbo which is the same as the 8 blade hx35 and it hits full boost around 4500rpms in the stock 12cm housing. I would deffinately go with the bolt on BEP housing if I was you

04-24-2010, 11:11 PM
ya i planned on getting the BEP housing, but unfortunately i only have the 7 blade hx35, but that just means i should spool a tad bit quicker, but i may have misunderstood the charts. i dont know how much boost i should push though, i want it to be 20 daily, and then when i go to the track i wanna be able to really open it up but till i get it on the car i wont know what to run it at i guess

04-25-2010, 02:04 AM
The 7 blade compressor wheel is the best one offered. Flows close to 60lbs/min. 20psi is nothing for these turbos, I run 23psi daily on mine and its not even being pushed hard. These turbos are capable of pushing 35psi without any issues.

04-25-2010, 03:05 AM
wow! see idk that much about turbos and how much they flow, so i guess im still sorta a newbie, but other than that i have built alot of talons/eclipses including a 2.4 stroker a a 2.1 destroked motor lol but now that i know that, i may push 24 psi daily. and 30 on the track. i was considering making my car an auto-x car but thought that that would be to hard on the car, what do you think?

04-25-2010, 12:35 PM
Autox really isin't that hard on the car, your only on the track for about 1 minute each run. Its one of the safest ways to run your car on the track. If the course is set up well then you shouldn't have anything to worry about as far as running into curbs or damaging your car. Much safer than any type of road racing.

04-26-2010, 12:08 AM
sorry i got my racing terms mixed up i meant like a track car lol, like being able to run 30 laps, but the more i think about it, the more im not liking the idea cause of the reliability issue

05-02-2010, 11:32 PM
ok i busted my t25 mocking it up #$%, so now i have to get rid of the holset to fund getting me a new turbo. i would like to find some one who has a 16g so i can just trade them but so far no takers.... this blows. the hot side of the turbo literally shattered into like 50 pieces i have never seen anything like that before.... anyone need a big turbo?

05-02-2010, 11:33 PM
oh also got a new oil catch can lol

05-03-2010, 12:39 PM
Damn just sold my 16g the other day I would have traded. My roomate has a t25 thats just sitting he may sell you if you want it.

05-04-2010, 01:49 AM
nah if i absolutely need a turbo by then i will just go to a buddy who has a exxtra t25 he was gunna give me for free but if i can get a mhi 16g then id be happy

05-11-2010, 04:01 AM
got some stuff done to the dsm today, i fixxed the tranny seals, got the motor off of the lift, preped the bay for the transplant, also went out and got a engine houst.... i cant get the enine under the bumper :( i could with my 1g... also got a few random bolts i may need.

05-20-2010, 03:38 PM

Wow man that looks greats. You should think about making a write on carbonfiber. Im sure there are some members on here that would be interested in it.

06-05-2010, 09:35 PM
like i said man it was a old friend who did it for me, i had to ship off the part to get it done, but i will be trying my hand at it in a month or two and when i do i will definitely do a write up. from what i can tell its a rather simple process. almost as though you were doing fiber glass work but with a few more steps involved.

but ya when i try it out myself i will most definitely put a write up on here and glad you liked the part... oh and thanks for commenting lol this thread has been dead for quite some time. and i just ordered another 1200$ worth of parts from FP so i cant wait till they arrive hehe

07-02-2010, 12:39 PM

ok so i finally got my aeromotive fpr and dsm link and ecu in the mail... and its installed already but i am not at home anymore and i forgot to take pics but as soon as i get back i will snap a few, i put my fpr where the stock boost solenoid would go i just relocated it about three inches to the passenger side and it looks amazing! also getting a aeromotive fuel rail in a few days so i cant wait. my turbo is supposed to be getting shipped any time now... and i have parts from punishment racing on their way atm

that is all

07-04-2010, 08:55 AM

07-04-2010, 10:32 AM
Looks like a compliment to me! Looks great! Turned out top notch.

07-04-2010, 10:58 AM

07-04-2010, 11:23 AM
ya actually he does lol if you guys need anything done send me a pmand i can get you a quote that only cost me 70 shipped to canada, he is based in the u.s. so it will be cheaper for you guys

Yeah good stuff. Cant wait to see pics, pics, pics!!

07-07-2010, 09:57 PM
first off a little story, two days ago i contact aniel from FP to ask where my turbo was that i ordered almost a month ago... he tells me that its on back order and i wont be seeing it for at least two months.... man was i pissed! well today i got a slip in the mail saying i had a package, now at first i thought it was my install kit and injectors but when i got to the post office it was a big box and on the side it said fp... at first i didnt clue in then half way home it clicked.... sooo here are the pics!!!

sorry i will try resizing them but photobucket is on the fringe again i think they gave me that lisence plate cover as a freebie cause of the wait... or maybe its like spend this much get a plate cover free.. idk but its sweet regardless. i also got a bolt kit and some gaskets but u guys know wat those look like im sure ;)

also my 16g install kit did arrive today but i was not home to pick it up so now i have to wait till friday, oh well it should be running by the end of the week hopefully i cant wait!!!

07-11-2010, 11:40 PM
O so sexy those parts are!

07-12-2010, 12:12 AM
lol thanks i agree, but the mani is already rusting :(

07-12-2010, 12:13 AM
That's sucky. I've always been a fan of the FP manifolds.

07-12-2010, 12:17 AM
ya but its cause they stopped offering it in a crematic coating so it needs to be done soon

07-12-2010, 12:19 AM
I did read that somewhere that they stopped doing that too.

07-12-2010, 12:21 AM
My favorite part is the License plate surround. Awesome parts man.....I have not heard anything but awesome remarks about FP.

07-12-2010, 12:38 AM
i loved purchasing through them but i do think that they could have a bit better communication other then that awesome parts. also i want to know why they stopped doing that it was a really good seller and they made money off of it so im at a loss for why they stopped the coating.... pluss it looked really sexy

07-18-2010, 10:28 AM
Looks good man, they probably send that license plate surround with every order. Its free advertisement for them besides the little bit it cost to make them.
