Rear seal leak

I noticed some drops of oil (a few) that were dime sized on the ground under the engine. I took it to the shop and they said I needed to have the oil pan gasket replaced. Did that and drove the car home from the shop. It sat for 3 ~ 4 days before I drove it about 2 miles. When I returned I noticed a puddle of oil on the ground where the car had been parked. Back to the shop... where they told me the rear seal needed to be replaced. My question is, could the have caused this major leak (Rear seal) while fixing the minor one (Oil Pan gasket). They are saying no they couldn't have. Not sure I believe it....

How many miles? Are you sure its a 3100? 3100's usually don't have issues with rear seal leaks (or oil leaks in general). Although we don't know your milage so I suppose anything is possible.
