5 speed manual into a 68 half ton

Has anybody ever put a overdrive manual tranny into a 1968 GMC?
Mine has a 307 with a saginaw 3 speed and it is geared really low, I was just thinking it'd be cool to put a 5 speed in there and get down around 2500 - 3000 rpm at 70-75 mph. Right now it's turning 3000 at 60 with the 4 barrels just pouring the fuel to it!

Hmm, there was an option for a Muncie sm465 4 speed manual on the 67-72 c/k. Can't say for sure on 5 speeds but maybe a NV3500, HM290, MG290 or 5LM60 would work.
