Im going to assume the parts are the same for all years from 91 to 96, for 2 door, 4 door, and wagons. That is what the 2nd gen. Escorts are. I dont know about the 2nd generation GT's. (Having the twin cam 1.8L engine).
I believe You would need to use another 'adjustable' link, since the liklihood that the one from the other side (of another 2nd gen. Escort) would be just the right length is very slim.

Those undercarriage parts rusting out are an Escort owners nightmare. My 92 has some undercarriage rust - so I get under it a couple of time a year, and rub a coating of grease on all metal parts, to retard further rust. For the box section of the unibody undercarriage, I squirt oil up into the holes, and I get out of the way before it begins to drip back down on me. On that car I also had to replace the brake lines running to the rear axle. One of them had rusted so much that it began to leak. The worst rust was hidden from view until I was directly under it looking straight up - between the fuel tank and the side of the body bottom. I did the work myself. It wasnt hard - but it did soak up time - and I had to deal with a colony of red ants.
