This race was done from a roll and i was in the back seat of the VR4. This Vid was cut a few seconds short by the guy in the mustang. you will see why. LOL

im sorry havent checked the board in awhile. The mustang I believe is a 96 gt with if I remember correctly a 2000 cobra motor. He has some other stuff done but I cant find his mod list. But it doesnt matter cause he is slow anyways. The TSI thing is part of the guys name on our local board. The VR4 was friend of his car that he was doing some mods to. Turbo upgrade, intercooler,clutch and flywheeel. Also had a boost controller and what not. He ran only a 12.4 at 113mph. Dont have have the .60 ft sorry. the mustangs best time was and laugh please is a 13.8. at i think 98mph. But I dont remember and its late. Any other questions I can get the answers quicker I hope than this response.

You should try going at it with a saleen. Now that is something worth seeing.

Im assumeing your really dont mean a motor from a 2000 cobra, since that would make it a 5.4 liter with 385 hp. Being that you probably have the year wrong, I have never heard of anyone swapping in a newer 32valve cobra motor in an alder GT. It would cost such an extreme amount, it would be a more feasable to swap on a supercharger and a shot of nitrous. If the mustang dude holds to his claims he is probalby lying.

I saw an ol skool 5.0 beat a VR-4 out here where I live.
That mustang made the VR-4 look silly and slow.

I also saw an H22 powered 97 civic hb get beat by an automatic firebird.

This vehicle in question is a 97 GT, the driver did a spark plug change, and put a hole in a piston, by using the wrong length plugs or something. So he got a deal on an 01 Cobra motor, and had the swap performed at Houston Performance. The vehicle also features longtube headers, x-pipe, and a catback exhaust. The vehicle is what he says it is, and is unbearably slow, for what it is.

well I am mistaken but so are you. The car is a 97 gt with a 01 cobra motor which is still a 4.6. The 385 horse motor you are referring to is in the 2003 cobra

Nope you are wrong. The only cobra made for 2000 was a limited production cobra R with a 5.4 liter 385 hp V8. The 2003 cobra is rated at 390 hp, though very much underrated.

well you are kinda right and I was wrong about the 2000 cobra's which none were officially produced. The cobra R's (300 were made)were done by svt of course which is part of ford and still produced at the dearborne plant. But the actual cobra wasnt done due to fact of the massive recall of the 99 models.
