I am going to get rid of the cat and just weld a length of exhaust pipe there, I think it is 2" piping to a brosal prospeed muffler.

I know the exhaust and intakew are both cheap, and will be upgraded later, but for now, they stay for $$$ reasons.

anyways, what kind of 1/4 ET do you think I could get with no seats but driver and no spare/jack. oh also I got 17's how much will they slow me down, have access to a couple 15's to put up front race day.

try to get the smallest diameter tire you can on race day. I got some 13" vx rims that I drive on everyday, and I borrowed my friends 15" gsr's and my car instantly felt more responsive and faster the minute I put the 13's back on.

I have 17's on it now, 15's are available for my fronts, but I still gotta keep the 17's on the rear cuz I only got 2 15's.

hope you don't plan to run around a lot with the 15's on... your front will be lowered assuming the tires are matched to the 15's you'll end up screwing your front bumper on the parking lot curbs..

Usually you run same size tires because #1 it looks better, #2 you don't look like a cheap ass who could only afford 2 rims/tires at a time, and #3 you should only have to do that if you are running slicks on your front tires for dragging, and then your rears would have the largest rim you could get with the skinniest profile you could afford..

4tegrs is only talking about runnin the 14's or 15's at the track. Not on the street. He's just saying that at the track he'll get better times with the smaller rims than his 17's.

all you need are some decent tires with good grip. and for a fwd car you might want to think of getting a front wing (pikes peak type)for more downforce/grip on the front end, these retard "rice-boys" with the rear spoilers are dumbasses, because they need the grip in the front not the back, sure you may be able to adjust them for a little help in stabilizing the rear end, but where the power is, is where the downforce should be..

Well what they're trying to say is the rotational mass of a 17" rim is much greater than that of a smaller rim. Thus a 14" or 15" rim will allow quicker acceleration due to less mass that needs to be turned and that makes for more power to be used in going forward. Not to mention a 17" rim is most likely heavier than a 14' or 15" rim... and we know weight is our enemy.

And, yes a front wing would help out.... but only at about 90mph or above really. And I highly doubt they're going to be faster than 90mph down the track... and if they are it'll only be for maybe 1 or 2 seconds as they pass the end of the 1/4 mile. Basically any type of spoiler/wing is useless on any type of car unless it lives its life at speeds to where the down force is needed.

But I do agree with you that rear mounted wings on fwd cars of any type is kinda dumb. I see it as $100-$400 that could of been used for engine goodies.

yeah, I wouldnt use them except for at the track. and I dont think it would lower it at all, shouldnt at least. I got 205/40/17 I probably had like 195/55/14's stock (CX) but I dont have hose, didnt come with car, but when you get rims, you dont get bigger tires, you get a shorter sidewall, which gives you the same O.D. as the stock setup.
