Tamiya Toyota Celica GT-FOUR

Tamiya Toyota Celica GT-FOUR (ST-205)
Inspired by the Rally Support Cars we used to see following the Rally Cars from stage to stage, this project was to mimic one based on a road car.
The base is Tamiya's Celica GT-FOUR, kit #24133. The suspension has been radically lowered, the front struts re-made using aluminium tubing.
The 18" Light weight OZ rally wheels sit on low profile tarmac tyres, mounted on standard brakes.
Body work is in Diamond White, with the WRC style packers raising the rear wing to Rally Car height, and colour coded in white.
The car is the European version in RHD, with the wide rear number plate surround and front lip. The kit contains parts to make all versions.
The engine is currently standard, but I am trying to source tuning components! I have changed the exhaust system for a Group A spec however. The strut brace is in alloy rather than steel too!
The interior has rally style bucket seats and Momo steering wheel. All trimmed in black leather.
Final touches are the photoetched Toyota badge, www.tte.de logo on the rear, and British number plates.
I am very pleased with the way this kit looks, my favourite view being the rear three quarter shot! It has an aggressive stance and looks great amongst all my other Japanese GT cars.
A kit recommended for experienced modellers, as it had some difficult stages, but lots of scope for detail.
